AI-suggested
A patch is available and has been applied in linux-azure kernel versions 5.15.0-1111.115~20.04.1 and later. Users should upgrade to these fixed versions or newer to remediate the vulnerability. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official kernel updates.
Description
A heap overflow vulnerability in the Linux kernel's AMD display driver (drm/amd/display) was resolved by replacing krealloc() with krealloc_array() in the dal_vector_reserve() function. The issue stemmed from a silent integer overflow during allocation size calculation, causing krealloc to allocate a smaller buffer than expected and leading to heap overflows on vector appends. This flaw affects specific linux-azure kernel versions and has been fixed in later releases.
