AI-suggested

A patch is available and should be applied. Fixed versions include Linux kernel 7.0.0-28.28~24.04.1 and later. Users should update to these fixed kernel versions to remediate the issue. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor advisory.

Description

CVE-2026-53377 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's drm/msm GPU driver where the GPU recovery mechanism did not always trigger properly when the GPU hung. This could cause the GPU to remain in a hung state, potentially leading to repeated timeouts. The issue has been fixed by changing the recovery logic to always recover the GPU regardless of workload state.
