VulnerabilityCVE-2026-57215cvecve-2026-57215cwe-863
Published: 07/10/2026 (07/10/2026, 20:23:26 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: rabbitmq
Product: rabbitmq-server

Description

RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. Prior to 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, and 4.2.6, RabbitMQ allows foreign bindings to amq.rabbitmq.reply-to destinations because volatile direct-reply-to queues can be accepted at bind and route time but are missing from Khepri-backed deletion checks, leaving persistent route entries after unbind. This issue is fixed in versions 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, and 4.2.6.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-57215 is an incorrect authorization vulnerability in rabbitmq-server affecting versions prior to 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, and 4.2.6. The vulnerability arises because volatile direct-reply-to queues can be bound and routed but are missing from Khepri-backed deletion checks, causing persistent route entries after unbind. This allows foreign bindings to amq.rabbitmq.reply-to destinations, potentially enabling unauthorized message routing or access. The issue is fixed in the stated versions.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows unauthorized foreign bindings to amq.rabbitmq.reply-to destinations, which could lead to unauthorized message routing or access persistence beyond intended lifetimes. This may compromise message confidentiality or integrity within affected RabbitMQ deployments. No known exploits in the wild have been reported.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in rabbitmq-server versions 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, and 4.2.6. Users should upgrade to these or later versions to remediate the vulnerability. No additional vendor advisory details are provided; therefore, patching to the fixed versions is the recommended mitigation.
