Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-58415 is a vulnerability in the Apache HTTP Server (mod_dav_fs) affecting versions from 2.4.0 through 2.4.68. The flaw allows remote clients to access internal state files containing WebDAV dead properties of resources they cannot author by sending a GET request to the .DAV state directory. This exposure violates access controls and leaks internal server state information.

Potential Impact

Remote attackers can read internal WebDAV dead property files for resources they do not have authorization to access. This information disclosure could aid attackers in further reconnaissance or exploitation but does not directly allow modification or control of the server.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in Apache HTTP Server version 2.4.69. Users should upgrade to version 2.4.69 or later to remediate this vulnerability. No alternative mitigations or temporary workarounds are indicated.
