AI-suggested

Upgrade Lightdash to version 0.3214.0 or later, which fixes the path traversal vulnerability and adds webhook HMAC signature verification when a secret is configured. If upgrading is not immediately possible, configure a webhook secret to enable signature verification and reject unsigned webhooks. Without a secret, unsigned webhooks will continue to be processed, so enabling a secret is strongly recommended. There is no indication that other mitigations fully address this issue.

Description

CVE-2026-61576 is a path traversal vulnerability in Lightdash versions prior to 0.3214.0 affecting the dbt Cloud webhook endpoint. The webhook lacks authentication and signature validation, allowing an attacker who knows a project's UUID to manipulate the accountId parameter to alter the server-side API request path on cloud.getdbt.com. This can cause the victim's API key to be sent to an attacker-controlled path, although there is no evidence the attacker can observe the API key. The vulnerability is fixed in version 0.3214.0, which adds path traversal protection and optional HMAC signature verification.
