AI-suggested

Upgrade Lightdash to version 0.3214.0 or later, which fixes the path traversal vulnerability and adds webhook HMAC signature verification when a secret is configured. If a secret is not configured, unsigned webhooks will still be processed, so configuring a webhook secret is recommended to enforce signature validation and prevent unauthorized webhook requests.

Description

Lightdash versions prior to 0.3214.0 contain an unauthenticated dbt Cloud webhook endpoint that accepts unsanitized inputs leading to path traversal on the dbt Cloud API URL. This flaw allows an attacker who knows a project's UUID to manipulate the API request path on the fixed host, potentially causing unauthorized preview creation. The vulnerability is fixed in version 0.3214.0, which adds path traversal protection and optional HMAC signature verification for webhooks.
