Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-63455 describes multiple vulnerabilities in the REST API of HPE EdgeConnect SD-WAN Orchestrator that permit unauthenticated remote attackers to bypass authentication mechanisms. This unauthorized access enables attackers to interact with system functions, potentially viewing and modifying sensitive data on the affected systems. The affected versions explicitly identified are 9.6.2.00000 and 9.6.3.00000. The vulnerability has a CVSS 3.1 base score of 9.8, reflecting critical impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. No vendor advisory or patch information is currently available to confirm remediation status.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows unauthenticated remote attackers to bypass authentication controls and gain access to system functions, which could lead to unauthorized disclosure and modification of sensitive information, as well as disruption of system availability. The critical CVSS score (9.8) indicates a high risk of severe impact to affected systems.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is released, restrict network access to the REST API interface and monitor for suspicious activity related to unauthenticated access attempts.
