A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux Azure kernel versions to remediate this vulnerability. Refer to the vendor advisory for the specific patched versions. No additional mitigation is indicated beyond applying the official fix.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Thunderbolt property handling was fixed that involved an integer overflow in the tb_property_entry_valid() function. This flaw allowed a malicious XDomain peer to bypass validation checks, potentially causing out-of-bounds memory reads and leaking kernel memory via sysfs attributes. The issue affects Linux Azure kernel versions prior to certain 7.0.0 builds and some 4.x and 5.15.x versions. A patch is available to address this vulnerability.
