AI-suggested
A patch is available and has been released in multiple Linux kernel versions (notably in 5.15.0-1117.124~20.04.1 and later). Users and administrators should update to these fixed kernel versions to remediate the vulnerability. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official updates.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Wacom HID driver (wacom_hid_set_device_mode) allowed an out-of-bounds write due to incorrect assumptions about the location of HID_DG_INPUTMODE usage in feature reports. This could lead to memory corruption. The issue has been fixed by properly tracking the field index and adding bounds checks. Multiple Linux kernel versions are affected, and patches have been released.
