Description
A use-after-free vulnerability was identified and fixed in the ALSA PCM OSS subsystem of the Linux kernel. The flaw involved improper handling of a setup entry in the OSS setup list during task-name allocation failure, which could lead to use-after-free conditions. The issue was resolved by changing the allocation and initialization order and improving locking during list traversal. This vulnerability affects multiple Linux kernel versions and has a CVSS score of 7.8. A patch is available to address this issue.
