A fix is available and has been applied in the Linux kernel. Users and administrators should update to the fixed kernel versions identified by the commit hashes provided. No additional mitigation steps are indicated.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's mms114 input driver caused improper parsing of touch events for MMS134S and MMS136 touch controllers due to incorrect event size handling. The driver assumed an 8-byte event size, but these devices use 6-byte events, leading to misaligned reads and incorrect touch data processing. This issue has been fixed by adjusting the byte offset calculation for each touch event according to the device's actual event size.
