AI-suggested
A patch is available and has been released in Linux kernel versions 5.15.0-1117.124~20.04.1 and later. Users should update to these fixed versions or later to resolve the issue. No additional mitigation actions are required beyond applying the official fix.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's gp2ap002 light sensor driver caused a runtime power management (PM) reference leak on read errors. The function gp2ap002_read_raw() called pm_runtime_get_sync() but failed to properly release the reference if gp2ap002_get_lux() failed, preventing the device from autosuspending. This issue has been fixed by ensuring the reference is properly dropped on error paths.
