Technical Analysis

EyouCMS versions 1.7.0 and 1.7.1 contain an unrestricted upload vulnerability in the edit_adminlogo function within application/admin/controller/Index.php. By manipulating the filename parameter, an attacker with high privileges can upload arbitrary files remotely. This vulnerability has a CVSS 4.0 base score of 5.1, indicating medium severity. The vendor has not provided a fix or advisory, and the exploit is publicly disclosed.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows an attacker with high privileges to upload arbitrary files to the server remotely, potentially leading to unauthorized file placement. The vulnerability has limited impact due to the requirement for high privileges and no user interaction. There are no confirmed reports of active exploitation in the wild.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Since the vendor has not responded and no official fix is available, users should consider restricting access to the affected functionality and monitor for suspicious activity related to file uploads. Avoid exposing administrative interfaces publicly until a fix is released.
