AI-suggested
An official patch is available and has been released by Ubuntu as part of their linux-hwe-edge kernel updates. Users should apply the updates to the specified package versions and reboot their systems to ensure the fixes take effect. Due to an ABI change, recompilation and reinstallation of third-party kernel modules may be required. Follow the Ubuntu security notices USN-8726-1 and USN-8727-1 for detailed update instructions.
Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: core: fix uninitialized data in debugfs If *ppos is non-zero then simple_write_to_buffer() will not initialize the start of buf[]. Non zero values for *ppos aren't going to work anyway. Test for them at the start of the function and return -EINVAL.
