Technical Analysis

This vulnerability in Tenda HG3 2.0 allows remote attackers to perform command injection via the 'datasize' parameter in the formTracert function located in /boaform/formTracert. The flaw enables execution of arbitrary commands on the affected device, potentially compromising device integrity and confidentiality. The CVSS 4.0 vector indicates network attack vector, low attack complexity, no privileges or user interaction required, with high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation can lead to arbitrary command execution on the affected Tenda HG3 device, potentially allowing attackers to take control of the device, disrupt network operations, or access sensitive information. The high CVSS score reflects significant risk to device security and network stability.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict network access to the device's management interface and monitor for unusual activity related to the formTracert function. Avoid exposing the device management interface to untrusted networks.
