A patch is available that validates all device-supplied offsets and lengths against the skb buffer length and prevents cyclic table chains. Users should apply the official Linux kernel updates that address this issue. No additional mitigations are required beyond applying the patch.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's net: wwan: iosm MUX downlink decoder allows a malicious modem to cause out-of-bounds reads and infinite loops by supplying invalid offsets and lengths. This flaw can lead to memory corruption and denial of service. The issue was identified and fixed by validating all device-supplied offsets and lengths against the buffer size and preventing cyclic table chains.
