A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The vendor advisory confirms that this issue has been resolved in updated kernel releases. Users should update their Linux kernel to the fixed versions to mitigate this vulnerability.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's huge memory management was resolved, where a writable device-private PMD swap entry was incorrectly rewritten as readable without preserving a specific protection bit (pmd_swp_uffd_wp). This flaw could allow a memory protection bypass during swap-in operations involving userfaultfd write-protected device-private transparent huge pages. Multiple Linux kernel versions are affected. A patch is available to correct this behavior.
