An official patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The vendor advisory confirms that this issue has been resolved. Users should update their systems to the fixed kernel versions to mitigate this vulnerability.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's batman-adv module could allow a local user with eBPF TC hook access to cause out-of-bounds reads by attaching a tc filter that truncates packets and redirects them to a batadv interface. The issue arises because the code assumes the presence of a minimum Ethernet header length without verifying buffer size. This flaw has been resolved by ensuring the batadv_interface_tx() function checks for sufficient data before processing. Multiple Linux kernel versions are affected, and a patch is available.
