A fix is available that replaces the unsafe strchr() call with strnchr() and adds explicit null-termination checks. Users should apply the official patches that address this issue in the affected Linux kernel versions.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's leds: uleds component could cause a potential buffer overread due to unsafe use of strchr() on a name string supplied by userspace that was not guaranteed to be null-terminated. This issue was fixed by replacing strchr() with strnchr() and adding explicit checks for null-termination.
