AI-suggested
A patch is available and should be applied to affected linux-aws kernel versions. The vendor advisory confirms the issue is fixed. Since sip_external_media is disabled by default, the risk is mitigated unless explicitly enabled. Users should update to patched kernel versions as listed in the affectedVersions field.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's netfilter nf_conntrack_sip module was resolved by validating skb_dst() before accessing it. The issue affected the tc ingress and openvswitch subsystems, which do not guarantee routing information availability. When the sip_external_media parameter is set to 1 (disabled by default), these subsystems could cause a crash due to missing skb_dst() validation. This vulnerability has been fixed in specific linux-aws kernel versions.
