AI-suggested
A patch is available that fixes this vulnerability by adding proper NULL checks in qede_rx_build_skb() and qede_tpa_rx_build_skb() to prevent off-by-one BD ring consumption. Users should apply the official Linux kernel updates that include this fix. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the patch.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's qede driver causes an off-by-one error in buffer descriptor (BD) ring consumption when memory allocation fails. This occurs because qede_rx_build_skb() and qede_tpa_rx_build_skb() do not properly check for NULL returns from qede_build_skb(), leading to desynchronization of the BD ring and potential memory corruption. The issue has been fixed by adding proper NULL checks to prevent BD ring manipulation on failure.
