AI-suggested
A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions to fix the divide-by-zero flaw in the aspeed-g6-pwm-tach driver. The vendor advisory confirms the issue is resolved in updated kernel releases. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions to mitigate this vulnerability.
Description
A divide-by-zero vulnerability in the Linux kernel's aspeed-g6-pwm-tach hardware monitoring driver could cause a kernel panic. The flaw occurs because the driver does not check if the tachometer value is zero before performing a division, leading to a divide-by-zero exception. This issue has been fixed by adding a check to prevent division by zero.
