A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The vendor advisory confirms the issue is fixed. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions as provided by their distribution. No additional mitigation steps are indicated or required beyond applying the official fix.

Description

A race condition in the Linux kernel's MIPI I3C HCI driver (i3c_hci_addr_to_dev function) could lead to use-after-free or crashes due to concurrent modification of the device list without proper locking. The issue arises because the function is called from an IRQ handler that cannot acquire the required bus lock. The vulnerability has been fixed by replacing the device list dependency with a dedicated lookup table protected by a different lock. Multiple Linux kernel versions are affected, and a patch is available.
