A patch is available and should be applied to affected linux-hwe-edge kernel versions. Users should update to the fixed kernel releases to remediate this issue. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor advisory.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's dmaengine subsystem (dma-axi-dmac driver) was resolved by properly freeing the struct axi_dmac_desc descriptor on failure paths. This fixes an issue where the descriptor was not fully freed when allocation failed in axi_dmac_prep_peripheral_dma_vec(). The vulnerability affects specific versions of the linux-hwe-edge kernel. A patch is available to address this issue.
