An official patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions to resolve this vulnerability. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions as provided by their Linux distribution vendors. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the patch.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's RDMA bnxt_re driver allowed applications to request multiple write-combined (WC) pages for the same user context, which was not supported. This could lead to repeated allocation requests causing concurrency issues. The flaw was addressed by adding locking to prevent concurrent access and checks to reject repeated requests, as well as freeing resources if mmap insertion failed. The vulnerability affects specific Linux kernel versions and has a high CVSS score indicating severe impact. A patch is available to resolve this issue.
