AI-suggested
A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The fix adds a validation check to prevent out-of-bounds reads in the PCIe path of the rtw88 WiFi driver. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions as provided by their Linux distribution vendors. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official fix.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's rtw88 WiFi driver allows an out-of-bounds read from the firmware RX descriptor due to insufficient validation of a computed length exceeding the DMA buffer size. This flaw occurs in the PCIe path where new_len can surpass the allocated buffer size, potentially causing memory corruption. The issue has been fixed by adding a check to ensure new_len does not exceed the DMA buffer size.
