AI-suggested

A fix is available and has been applied in the Linux kernel. The fix enforces a minimum 500 millisecond delay between sensor updates, preventing the busy-loop and I2C flooding. Users should update to a Linux kernel version that includes the fix commits identified in the established facts.

Description

CVE-2026-74547 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's hwmon driver for the adt7470 sensor. When userspace sets the 'auto_update_interval' to 0 and 'num_temp_sensors' to 0, the background update thread enters a tight busy-loop, causing high CPU usage and flooding the I2C bus with continuous transactions. This can lead to denial of service on the I2C bus. The issue is fixed by enforcing a minimum 500 millisecond sleep interval between sensor updates.
