A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions to ensure the uninitialized bytes are zeroed before transmission. The vendor advisory confirms this fix is included in updated kernel releases. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions to remediate this issue.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's bridge MRP (Media Redundancy Protocol) implementation caused uninitialized bytes to be sent on the wire in MRP test frames. This was due to certain fields in the MRP test frame's sub-option TLV header and alignment padding not being properly zeroed, potentially leaking uninitialized memory data. The issue has been fixed by ensuring these bytes are zeroed before transmission.
