Description

UC Browser for Android version 13.7.8.1314 contains a Universal Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability. This flaw allows attackers to execute arbitrary JavaScript code in the context of any origin by leveraging a reflected XSS on a UC-owned domain combined with the browser's internal JavaScript bridge. Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-78997 is a Universal Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability in UC Browser for Android (package com.UCMobile.intl, version 13.7.8.1314). The vulnerability arises from a reflected XSS hosted on a UC-owned domain that exploits the browser's internal JavaScript bridge to register a deferred callback. This callback triggers navigation to a victim site and executes attacker-controlled JavaScript code in the context of that site when a login dialog is dismissed, enabling arbitrary script execution across origins.

Potential Impact

An attacker can execute arbitrary JavaScript code in the context of any origin within the affected browser version. This could lead to unauthorized actions on behalf of the user, theft of sensitive information, or other malicious activities within the browser context. No known exploits in the wild have been reported at this time.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. No official fix or workaround has been documented. Users and administrators should monitor for vendor updates addressing this vulnerability.
