Users should monitor the vendor advisory for updates. As a temporary mitigation, applications should implement session ID rotation upon authentication to prevent session fixation attacks.
Description
web.py version 0.76 is affected by a session fixation vulnerability where the session ID is not rotated after authentication. This allows an attacker to fixate a session ID and potentially hijack an authenticated session. The vulnerability arises because the session ID is read directly from the request cookie and reused without change.
