A patch is available and should be applied to affected linux-azure kernel versions. The vendor advisory from Ubuntu confirms that this and other Linux kernel vulnerabilities have been fixed. Users should update to the patched kernel versions to remediate this issue.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's wifi wcn36xx driver caused an out-of-bounds read due to insufficient validation of firmware response length. This flaw could corrupt the Block Acknowledgement (BA) session state by reading stale heap data. The issue has been fixed by adding proper validation of the firmware response to include candidate data. Multiple specific linux-azure kernel versions are affected. A patch is available to address this vulnerability.
