AI-suggested
Users should upgrade Apache Wicket to version 9.25.0 or 10.12.0, where this issue is fixed. Until upgraded, applications should ensure that the form-less upload resource is properly authorized to restrict access, or avoid using FileUploadToResourceField or mounting FileUploadResourceReference. No other mitigations are documented in the vendor advisory.
Description
CVE-2026-84170 is a resource allocation vulnerability in Apache Wicket's form-less file upload resource. The issue arises because upload size limits can be overridden by client request parameters, effectively disabling server-enforced limits on total upload size, individual file size, and file count. This can lead to excessive memory and disk usage without authentication or user interaction. The vulnerability affects Apache Wicket versions 9.14.0 through 9.24.0 and 10.0.0 through 10.9.1. Fixed versions are 9.25.0 and 10.12.0.
