Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: CareCam
Product: HMT.CM2507 Firmware

Description

CareCam CM2507 IP cameras contain an insufficiently protected network maintenance mechanism that can activate a remote debugging service. An attacker on the same local network who satisfies certain device state conditions could make the service remotely accessible, increasing the risk of unauthorized administrative access.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-84400 describes a vulnerability in CareCam HMT.CM2507 firmware version 251211.1507. The issue involves an insufficiently protected network maintenance mechanism that can activate a remote debugging service. If an attacker is on the same local network and certain device state conditions are met, the debugging service can be made remotely accessible. This increases the risk of unauthorized administrative access to the device. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 3.1, reflecting low impact with attack vector requiring local network access and high attack complexity.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows an attacker on the same local network to potentially enable remote access to a debugging service that is normally protected. This could lead to unauthorized administrative access, but the impact is limited by the requirement for local network access and specific device states. There is no confidentiality or availability impact reported, only limited integrity impact.

Mitigation Recommendations

No patch or official fix is currently available for this vulnerability. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is released, restrict local network access to trusted users only and monitor device configurations to prevent unauthorized activation of debugging services.
