AI-suggested

Upgrade Chartbrew to version 5.2.3 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation is required as the fix addresses the improper escaping of date-typed variables in MongoDB queries. Ensure that public, shareable, or embedded charts are not using vulnerable versions.

Description

CVE-2026-85726 is a high-severity vulnerability in Chartbrew versions prior to 5.2.3. It involves improper neutralization of special elements in MongoDB query logic when a date-typed variable is placed inside a quoted query placeholder. An unauthenticated attacker can craft a URL filter to break out of the quoted literal and alter the query logic, enabling blind extraction of any field from the queried MongoDB collection. The vulnerability affects publicly accessible charts that use date variables in quoted placeholders. This issue is fixed in Chartbrew version 5.2.3.
