Description

GitPython versions before 3.1.60 contain a regular expression denial of service (ReDoS) vulnerability in the Actor.name_email_regex component. This vulnerability arises when processing commit author and committer fields, where a specially crafted commit with an unterminated angle bracket in the author field can cause excessive CPU consumption due to quadratic backtracking. The issue can lead to CPU exhaustion for over two minutes per commit access, impacting availability.
