CVE-2026-87855: CWE-434 Unrestricted Upload of File with Dangerous Type in ntbyk JTL-Connector for WooCommerce
Description
The JTL-Connector for WooCommerce WordPress plugin up to version 2.4.3 contains an arbitrary file upload vulnerability. This flaw arises because the startSession() function accepts an empty jtlauth parameter as valid, combined with insufficient file type validation in handleImagePush(). This allows unauthenticated attackers to upload potentially executable files, enabling remote code execution. The vulnerability is critical with a CVSS score of 9.8.

Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-87855 is a critical arbitrary file upload vulnerability in the JTL-Connector for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions up to and including 2.4.3. The issue stems from the startSession() function accepting an empty jtlauth parameter as valid authentication, permitting unauthenticated access. Additionally, the handleImagePush() function does not properly validate uploaded file types, allowing attackers to upload files that may be executable. This combination enables remote code execution by unauthenticated attackers.
Potential Impact
Successful exploitation allows unauthenticated attackers to upload arbitrary files, including executable ones, to the server running the vulnerable plugin. This can lead to remote code execution, compromising confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the affected system. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 9.8 (critical), reflecting network attack vector, no privileges required, no user interaction, and high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Mitigation Recommendations
Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict access to the plugin and disable or remove it if possible. Monitor for updates from the vendor ntbyk regarding patches addressing this vulnerability.
