Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-89007 is a missing authorization vulnerability (CWE-862) in the Bookit — Booking & Appointment Calendar WordPress plugin versions prior to 2.6.0.5. The plugin fails to verify user capabilities in one of its appointment deletion functions, enabling users with the Staff role, which is intended to have limited privileges, to delete appointments arbitrarily. This could lead to unauthorized modification of booking data.

Potential Impact

Users with the low-privileged Staff role can delete any appointment, potentially disrupting booking schedules and causing denial of service to legitimate users relying on the appointment system. There is no indication of privilege escalation beyond deletion or other impacts.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade the Bookit — Booking & Appointment Calendar plugin to version 2.6.0.5 or later, where this authorization check issue has been fixed. No other mitigation is indicated.
