AI-suggested

A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel to sanitize the pointer embedded in the bounce payload, preventing the kernel memory address leak. Users should apply the official kernel update that includes this fix. Since this is a kernel vulnerability, upgrading to the patched kernel version is the recommended mitigation. No additional workarounds or mitigations are indicated.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel ALSA sequencer subsystem could leak kernel memory addresses to unprivileged userspace. This occurs because the bounce payload sent to userspace includes a pointer to an internal extension cell, exposing an address from kernel memory. The flaw affects the handling of variable-length events when using the bounce filter on non-existent ports.
