Description

CVE-2026-90971 is an authorization vulnerability in Devolutions Server affecting versions up to 2026.2.16. It allows a low-privileged authenticated user to exploit the VMware synchronization feature to perform Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF). Technical Analysis

This vulnerability (CWE-863) in Devolutions Server's VMware synchronization feature allows improper authorization checks. A low-privileged authenticated user can submit a specially crafted connection definition that triggers SSRF, enabling access to sensitive credentials of other users and internal or cloud metadata endpoints. The issue affects versions up to and including 2026.2.16.

Potential Impact

An attacker with low privileges can leverage this flaw to obtain credentials belonging to other users and access internal or cloud metadata network endpoints. This could lead to unauthorized access to sensitive information and potential lateral movement within the network or cloud environment.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. No official fix or patch links are provided in the available data. Until a patch is available, restrict access to the VMware synchronization feature to trusted users only and monitor for suspicious activity related to connection definitions.
