AI-suggested
Users of Everest Forms plugin versions up to 3.6.2 should monitor vendor advisories for updates. Until a fix is available, avoid clicking on suspicious links containing the 'evf_toast_type' and 'evf_toast' parameters. Implementing web application firewall (WAF) rules to detect and block malicious payloads targeting these parameters may provide temporary mitigation.
Description
The Everest Forms – Contact Form, Payment Form, Quiz, Survey & Custom Form Builder with AI plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting via the 'evf_toast_type' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 3.6.2 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link. Exploitation requires the sibling evf_toast parameter to decode successfully via atob(), but this is a trivially attacker-controlled prerequisite.
