Users should monitor the vendor's advisory for updates. Until a fix is available, consider disabling or restricting access to the vulnerable plugin functionality to unauthenticated users. Implementing web application firewall (WAF) rules to detect and block suspicious input may provide temporary mitigation.

Description

A stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in the User Registration & Membership WordPress plugin up to version 5.2.8. The flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to inject malicious scripts via the Checkbox Field Value due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. The vulnerability is reachable through an AJAX action that lacks nonce validation, enabling arbitrary script execution when users access the injected content.
