Published: 09/15/2026 (09/15/2026, 15:18:31 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: dep0we
Product: atomic-agents-stack

Description

atomic-agents-stack versions before 1.1.0 have a path traversal vulnerability in the dashboard HTTP server. This flaw allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files outside the intended directory by using directory traversal sequences in request paths. The vulnerability affects the DashboardHandler.do_GET endpoint, enabling bypass of path containment checks.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-91989 describes a path traversal vulnerability in dep0we's atomic-agents-stack prior to version 1.1.0. The dashboard HTTP server improperly limits pathnames, allowing attackers to include '../' sequences in requests to the DashboardHandler.do_GET endpoint. This bypasses directory restrictions and permits reading arbitrary files outside the designated agents_root directory.

Potential Impact

An attacker can remotely read arbitrary files on the affected system without authentication or user interaction. This can lead to unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information. The CVSS 4.0 base score is 8.7 (high severity), reflecting the network attack vector, low attack complexity, no privileges required, no user interaction, and high impact on confidentiality.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Users should monitor dep0we's official channels for updates and apply any released patches promptly. Until a fix is available, restricting network access to the dashboard HTTP server and employing web application firewalls to detect directory traversal attempts may reduce exposure.
