Published: 09/16/2026 (09/16/2026, 15:23:14 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: Control iD
Product: iDSecure

Description

Control iD iDSecure versions prior to 4.8.3.0 are affected by an unauthenticated Denial of Service. The /api/license/restartService endpoint is reachable without authentication and invokes an internal routine that terminates the iDSecure service process and relaunches it by way of a generated batch script. An unauthenticated remote attacker can call this endpoint repeatedly to hold the service in a continuous restart cycle, rendering it unavailable.

An attacker can exploit this by repeatedly calling the endpoint without authentication, causing a denial of service through continuous service restarts.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability results in a denial of service condition by making the iDSecure service unavailable through continuous restart cycles. There is no impact on confidentiality or integrity, but availability is severely affected.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in Control iD iDSecure version 4.8.3.0. Users should upgrade to version 4.8.3.0 or later to remediate this vulnerability. No other mitigation guidance is provided.
