Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: Control iD
Product: iDSecure

Description

Control iD iDSecure versions prior to 4.8.3.0 are affected by an unauthenticated Denial of Service. The /api/dguardintegration/dguardVersion endpoint dereferences DGuard integration login state that may be unset, raising an unhandled null reference exception. The exception is thrown from an asynchronous method that returns void, so it is not observed by a caller and can terminate the iDSecure process.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-92626 is a high-severity vulnerability in Control iD iDSecure affecting versions before 4.8.3.0. The vulnerability is a null pointer dereference (CWE-476) triggered by the /api/dguardintegration/dguardVersion endpoint when it dereferences an unset DGuard integration login state. This causes an unhandled null reference exception in an asynchronous void method, which is not observed by the caller and results in termination of the iDSecure process, causing a denial of service. The vulnerability can be exploited without authentication.

Potential Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability results in a denial of service by terminating the iDSecure process. There is no impact on confidentiality or integrity, but availability is severely affected. The vulnerability can be triggered remotely without authentication, increasing its risk.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in Control iD iDSecure version 4.8.3.0 and later. Users should upgrade to version 4.8.3.0 or newer to remediate this vulnerability. Patch status is confirmed by the affectedVersions data indicating versions prior to 4.8.3.0 are vulnerable.
