What to do

AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated gstreamer1-plugins-base packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the security update as soon as possible following Red Hat's guidance at https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. No additional mitigations are specified by the vendor. Systems running affected versions without the update remain vulnerable.

Description

Two security vulnerabilities affecting the GStreamer streaming media framework and its gstreamer1-plugins-base package have been addressed by Red Hat. The first vulnerability (CVE-2026-18297) involves a buffer overflow in OGG file parsing that could lead to arbitrary code execution. The second vulnerability (CVE-2026-85150) involves a NULL or invalid pointer dereference when parsing crafted Digest Authorization or WWW-Authenticate headers, potentially causing a denial of service. Red Hat has released security updates for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 to fix these issues.
