Until a fix is available, avoid using the {{referrer_url}} smart tag in Content Restriction messages or restrict access to affected plugin versions. Monitor vendor channels for updates and apply official patches once released.
Description
The User Registration & Membership plugin for WordPress versions up to and including 5.2.8 contains a code injection vulnerability. This arises from improper sanitization of the HTTP_REFERER header in the 'referrer_url' smart tag processing, allowing unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary registered shortcodes on restricted pages using the {{referrer_url}} tag. The vulnerability is classified as CWE-94 and has a high severity with a CVSS score of 8.1.
