AI-suggested
Until a fix is released, site administrators should remove or disable the Qode Membership plugin or restrict access to pages containing the [qode_user_login] or [qode_user_register] shortcodes to trusted users only. Monitoring for updates from Qode Themes is essential to apply an official fix once available. Avoid exposing the vulnerable AJAX action publicly and consider implementing additional access controls or disabling social login features temporarily.
Description
Qode Membership plugin for WordPress versions up to 2.0.6.2 contains an authentication bypass vulnerability due to a typographic error in Facebook OAuth token verification. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to log in as any existing WordPress user, including administrators, by exploiting a publicly accessible nonce and supplying a known username. The vulnerability arises because a critical token verification condition tests an undefined variable, disabling proper validation and enabling account takeover.
