A fix is available that removes the redundant rpmsg device unregistration during endpoint destruction. Users should update to a patched Linux kernel version that includes this fix. Since this is a kernel-level issue, applying the official kernel updates from the vendor or distribution is the recommended remediation.
Description
A deadlock vulnerability in the Linux kernel's rpmsg glink endpoint destroy process during driver detach has been fixed. The issue occurs because the device mutex is held throughout the driver's remove callback chain, and the rpmsg endpoint destroy implementation redundantly attempts to unregister the rpmsg device, causing a deadlock and indefinite hang during module removal. The redundant unregistration has been removed to resolve the deadlock.
