A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel to address this issue. Users should update to a patched kernel version that includes this fix. Since this is a kernel-level vulnerability, applying the official kernel updates from the Linux distribution or vendor is the recommended remediation.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Qualcomm GENI serial DMA transmit path could cause new data written to the transmit FIFO to be discarded if a stale DMA completion interrupt advances the FIFO incorrectly. This occurs when uart_flush_buffer() resets the FIFO after hardware DMA completion but before the DMA completion interrupt is handled. The issue has been resolved by marking in-flight DMA transfers as stale when the transmit FIFO is flushed, preventing advancement of the FIFO by stale completions.
