AI-suggested

A fix is available in xdg-dbus-proxy version 0.1.9. Users should upgrade to this version or later. Additionally, avoid running untrusted Flatpak applications or other apps that use xdg-dbus-proxy as part of their sandboxing framework to reduce risk.

Description

CVE-2026-94422 is a vulnerability in xdg-dbus-proxy before version 0.1.9 that allows an attacker to bypass message filtering on the D-Bus session bus by setting a reply serial number on non-reply messages. This flaw can be exploited by a malicious or compromised Flatpak application to execute arbitrary code outside its sandbox, compromising the host system's confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The issue arises from improper validation of reply-serial numbers, enabling sandbox escape. A fix is available in version 0.1.9.
